How to Use AMIBCP V4.53l to Customize Your BIOS

If you want to tweak your BIOS settings or change the boot logo, you might need a tool called AMIBCP. AMIBCP stands for AMI BIOS Configuration Program and it is a utility that lets you edit various parameters in an Aptio ROM image without rebuilding the BIOS. In this article, we will show you how to use AMIBCP V4.53l, which is compatible with Aptio 4 BIOS, to customize your BIOS.

What You Need

Before you start, make sure you have the following:

A backup of your current BIOS image. You can use tools like AFU (AMI Firmware Update) or AFUWINGUI to save your BIOS image to a file.

A copy of AMIBCP V4.53l. You can download it from here [^1^] or here [^7^]. Extract the zip file and run AMIBCP.exe.

(Optional) A copy of AMI ChangeLogo if you want to change the boot logo. You can download it from here [^4^]. Extract the zip file and run ChangeLogo.exe.

How to Use AMIBCP V4.53l

Follow these steps to use AMIBCP V4.53l:

Open AMIBCP and click File > Open Image File. Browse to the location of your BIOS image file and open it.

You will see a tree view of the BIOS structure on the left pane and a table view of the selected item on the right pane. You can expand or collapse the tree nodes to see different sections of the BIOS.

To modify a parameter, select it on the right pane and double-click on its value. A dialog box will pop up where you can change the value or select from a list of options. For example, you can change the default boot order, enable or disable features, or edit strings.

After you make your changes, click File > Save Image File As and save your modified BIOS image to a new file.

(Optional) If you want to change the boot logo, open ChangeLogo and click File > Load Image File. Browse to the location of your modified BIOS image file and open it.

You will see a preview of the current boot logo on the left pane and a list of available logos on the right pane. You can select a logo from the list or click File > Load Logo File to load your own logo file. The logo file must be in BMP format and have the same resolution as the original logo.

After you select your logo, click File > Update Logo and save your modified BIOS image to a new file.

To flash your modified BIOS image to your system, use tools like AFU or AFUWINGUI and follow their instructions. Make sure you have a backup of your original BIOS image in case something goes wrong.

Conclusion

AMIBCP V4.53l is a powerful tool that allows you to customize your BIOS settings and logo without rebuilding the BIOS. However, use it with caution as modifying the BIOS can be risky and may void your warranty or damage your system. Always backup your original BIOS image before flashing a modified one and do not change parameters that you are not sure about. 248dff8e21
